Side-note: just bought this Ryobi 14 amp Circular Saw for fifteen bucks via craigslist.com !!! Came with one nearly new blade. Fairly new saw. Beats using a handsaw for everything. :)
Here is a picture of the finished frame. This is Ted. He came over with his big boy toys (circular saw and power drills) and we finished in an hour what would have taken me the rest of the week using my hand saw and screwdriver... :)
Reclaimed and Reused materials implemented thus far:
1.) one 2' x 5' plywood board
2.) four 2' x 2' plywood boards (reclaimed from an earlier project at previous residence: shelves for an apt. pantry that had brackets for shelves but had no shelves! got tired of waiting on the on call fix-it man to show up... another story for another time!)
3.) couple of discarded wooden pallets
4.) metal hinges reclaimed from a discarded memo box!
5.) a roll of chicken wire generously provided by our Land Lady :)
Purchased materials:
1.) 1'' and 3'' rust resistant outdoor screws (Home Depot)
2.) metal lock latch (Do It! center...)
So far we have the frame and roost sections built and attached. All that is left to add is the chicken wire!
